AN ASSOCIATION OF PARENTS & FRIENDS

Rather than a parochial or private form of ownership, an Association of parents and friends of Christian education own, direct, and promote the mission and philosophy of Kanawha Christian School.  This Association approves the annual budget, any changes (which are rare) in the constitution, and the purchase or sale of land on behalf of the school as recommended by the board.  The Association also elects board members to represent the Association.  Interested in joining the Association?  Contact the School Office for additional details.

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is composed of individuals elected by the Association to govern the school on their behalf. The board sets the vision, policies, and accountability standards for the school. The officers are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Parlimentarian. Normally, the Board meets each month except for July.

Administration, Faculty, & Staff

The administration and staff are essential in carrying out the mission and operations of the school. The board takes care to establish policies requiring all employees to meet the following qualifications: profess Christ as Savior and Lord; maintain a positive Christian testimony; and, enroll eligible children in Kanawha Christian School in grades PreK through twelve.

Parent & Community Support

As a partnership in a ministry, Kanawha Christian School is dependent on regular parent communication with the school. The Association covets your observations and questions to allow the school to serve more effectively.  We also solicit your regular prayer for the student body, faculty, board, administration, support staff, other parents, volunteers, leaders, members of auxiliary organizations, those supporting the school with their contributions, and the churches that support Christian education.

Volunteers

Parents are encouraged to participate in the auxiliary groups or as volunteers.  There are many opportunities to serve such as chaperoning field trips, providing special skills in the office, or helping with drama or other special events and programs.

Development, Fundraising, and the KCS Foundation

Our current families now enjoy the results of past families who have given to the school over many decades.  We need to continue this ministry, not only to meet our present needs, but also to prepare for the future.  Your contributions are appreciated for the school’s annual fund drive and the special capital projects.
